Hampton Roads International Montessori School

Our students love coming to school! They are engaged; exploring, learning, growing and becoming independent by using interactive materials and hands-on experiences beginning at 16 months and continuing through 12 years of age. 133 students total and expanding elementary program. Currently house 3 toddler communities; 3 children's house classrooms; 1 lower elementary program; 1 upper elementary program.

Montessori is a time-tested, child-centered approach to education that empowers children to become confident, creative, critical thinkers. HRIMS allows all of this to happen in a culturally diverse and peaceful community environment.

Established in 1992, Hampton Roads International Montessori School encourages students to learn at a pace with which they are comfortable, giving them the freedom and drive to succeed and reach new levels academically and socially. The Montessori classroom is designed to facilitate the independent development of the child. Our environment meets the needs of young children to adapt, explore, learn, grow, and reach their full potential as lifelong learners.
