The Carolyn Barron Montessori School (CBMS), located in Newnan, Georgia 30 miles south of the Atlanta Airport, is seeking an exceptional candidate, preferably with AMI training at the Upper Elementary level for an immediate opening in an established Upper Elementary classroom. CBMS is a quaint and thriving Montessori school located in the historic downtown area of Newnan. Therefore, we are seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative applicant who is not only experienced and serious about Montessori education but also light-hearted and genuine in their approach! The Carolyn Barron Montessori School is an independent, non-profit, AMI recognized school fully committed to AMI practices and principles. The school is comprised of one toddler classroom, two primary classrooms, and one lower elementary classroom (6-9), one upper elementary classroom (9-12), and a small, dynamic Adolescent program (12-14yrs). Qualifications

The right candidate must possess a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, exceptional classroom management skills, excellent communication skills (oral and written), and be committed to implementing high-quality Montessori according to all AMI standards.
-A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Teaching, Education, or a related discipline is recommended.
-Completed training at an accredited Montessori Center.
-An ability to teach groups of children of varying ages, needs, and abilities.
-Patience and excellent observational, communication, and diagnostic skills.
-The ability to multitask, keep calm under pressure, and treat everyone with love and respect.
-Excellent planning and organizational skills.
-A lifelong learner who can be a good role model for children.

Responsibilities

-Observe, guide, supervise, and assess students while they learn in the classroom environment.
-Develop lesson plans, independent learning exercises, and methods that cater to the needs of the individual child.
-Create and maintain a safe, clean, stimulating classroom where all children feel safe and valued.
-Set an excellent example for students and instilling good values in them like honesty, accountability, understanding, tolerance, respect, love, and kindness.
-Monitor and assess student progress and write up reports.
-Ensure classroom supplies and equipment are available and in working condition.
-Participate in school activities and accompany students on field trips.
