MSE is seeking a Lead Teacher to join our well-established Toddler Program. Lead Teachers are responsible for creating a classroom and student experience that embodies the MSE mission. The Lead Teacher plans and implements all academic and organizational aspects of the classroom. These responsibilities include overseeing their Assistant Teacher, planning curriculum, teaching a variety of subjects, developing and participating in classroom management plans, observing and assessing student progress, communicating clearly and consistently with parents, and working to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of the students. Lead Teachers hold parent-teacher conferences and write student reports. In addition, Lead Teachers participate fully in the life of the school. This includes attending faculty meetings, conferring with colleagues regarding curriculum and teaching strategies, and planning field studies and overnight trips.
Minimum qualifications include an AMS or AMI certification at the Toddler level, and an undergraduate degree. An ideal candidate has a strong work ethic and is a responsible leader who works well with others. Candidates would demonstrate a willingness to be challenged and to grow professionally, the ability to collaborate, a positive attitude, and excellent communication and organizational skills.
