A thoughtful, open-minded family based in San Carlos, CA is seeking a Spanish-fluent hybrid educator/nanny to enhance their daughters’ educational journey!

Based in the beautiful Bay Area, this active family enjoys daily outdoor adventures with their children and they visit their nearby extended family whenever possible. When it is safe to do so, they look forward to spending time at the beach and in the mountains skiing! They are raising their daughters to be thoughtful, curious, and kind, and have fostered an environment of creativity, learning, and open-mindedness in their home. Their children, who are soon-to-be 8 and 6 years old, currently attend a Spanish-immersion school that utilizes common core and 2-way immersion curriculum. They’ll be entering 1st and 3rd grade in the fall and their parents are eager to introduce an educator/nanny who can manage implementing their school curriculum and foster a love of learning both during and after school hours. They are excited for an imaginative candidate who also enjoys hiking, exploring in nature, and creating arts and crafts!

This position is ideal for a candidate with a team player, proactive, and creative mentality who thrives in a go-with-the-flow environment and is able to develop engaging lesson plans inspired by pre-selected curriculum and day-to-day activities. These parents deeply value encouraging self-sufficiency in their children and look forward to their educator/nanny being a positive role model and teaching the girls how to do something rather than doing it for them, both in and out of the classroom. Fluency in Spanish is essential to continue exposing the girls to the language; this could include following the 2-way immersion curriculum during school hours, as well as, for example, teaching the girls how to do their laundry in Spanish. Their 8-year-old is very bright, holds herself to a high standard, and succeeds with gentle encouragement. Their 6-year-old thrives with a loving yet firm approach; a candidate who can balance these two personalities will fit in seamlessly with these girls. The family’s home has an all-hands-on-deck spirit and they are excited to find a candidate who will not only guide their daughters’ education, but also be a positive role model with a team mentality. Pitching in with various household tasks such as children’s laundry, emptying the dishwasher, and light meal prep, will be valued!

This is a full-time live-in or live-out position of 40-50 hours per week. The schedule is flexible and will roughly fall on Mondays through Fridays from 8am to 6pm, with a daily routine that consists of both “school hours” and “after-school hours.” Should the candidate prefer to live-in, accommodations include a private bedroom and bathroom in the family’s home. The family is offering $40-$45/hour in addition to a benefits package that includes relocation assistance, healthcare stipend, PTO, and sick days. Driving is required for this role and a vehicle will be provided, if needed. The position will begin as soon as they find the right fit!

This position is open to all Adventure Nannies candidates who are legally able to work in the US, possess a valid driver’s license, and are fluent in Spanish. This family is happy to consider relocation candidates for this position. Out of respect for the privacy of the families we work with, we cannot provide any additional information about this position other than what has already been provided in the job description.
