Description

Happy Home Montessori is seeking a full-time Teacher to join our neighborhood preschool which provides

preschool, kindergarten and all-day childcare to children ages 2-6 years old. We have a peaceful and intimate

environment for staff as well as children, that is inviting and nurturing.

About you:

· You have patience, compassion, and warmth when interacting with young children even before they have the verbal skills to respond.

· You understand the developmental stages of toddlers and preschoolers.

· You have previous teacher, nanny, or other childcare experience.

· You are open to feedback and willing to grow your skills as an early childhood educator.

· You are excited to join and work with a community of families.

· You are tidy but also willing to get messy during sensory play.

· You are punctual, hardworking, and reliable.

· You are excited to work in a small team to provide stellar care, maintain safe environments, and create a warm, empowering place for all staff and children to thrive.

What will be asked of you:

· One year experience of teaching preschool age children in a classroom

· Minimum of 12 ECE units with continuing education in progress

· Apply the Montessori philosophy from the training that will be provided

· Develop and maintain a friendly and ongoing rapport with children and parents

· Practice the philosophies of respectful caregiving

· Develop & implement curriculum with co-teachers

· Observe the children’s interaction and behaviors and document observations

· Interact with children with kindness and respect

· Maintain records in: Kid Kare, Brightwheel, Scope & Sequence

· Physical abilities include lifting/carrying, reaching/handling, talking/hearing, conversations, near/far visual acuity/depth perception/accommodation/color vision/field of vision

· Keep the learning environment sanitized and safe.

· Participate in all school activities and community events.

· Find a balance between setting helpful routines for the children and being flexible with them to support all of the changes and rapid growth their bodies and minds are doing.

Required Certifications and Clearances

• Livescan Fingerprint Clearance

• Pediatric CPR & First Aid

• TB Clearance

• Record of immunity to TDAP, MMR

• Mandated Child Abuse Reporter Certification
