Position Overview:
Marin Montessori School is seeking a joyful and resourceful Classroom Assistant to support two primary classrooms serving children ages 2–6. This role includes creating and preparing classroom materials, supervising children during staff breaks, and providing on-call support when teachers are absent.

Compensation & Benefits:

Hourly, non-exempt position: $24–$28/hr

Paid holidays during the school year; summer break is unpaid

Health and dental benefits and paid sick leave in accordance with California law

$1,000 hiring bonus ($500 at hire, $500 after three successful months)

Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Attributes:
Minimum 12 ECE units, including Child Development and Child, Family & Community
At least six months’ experience working with young children
Kind, joyful attitude with a desire to learn on the job
Interest or experience in crafting/material prep
Professional, reliable, punctual, and resourceful
Basic computer skills; excellent verbal and written communication
Able to lift up to 40 lbs, sit on the floor, and move up/down with ease
Organized and detail-oriented
Ability to successfully complete a background check
Collaborative and flexible approach to working with colleagues
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher
Fluent Spanish speaker
Knowledge of Montessori principles and enthusiasm to learn
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Support daily classroom operations in two primary classrooms
Prepare materials (cutting, sewing, playdough, punching paper, etc.)
Supervise children during staff breaks, maintaining a line of sight
Serve as an on-call assistant substitute when staff are absent
