Position Overview: 

Job responsibilities include working closely with two of our primary teachers to support their classrooms. Tasks include making materials, and supervising children while other staff are on breaks. The age group is 2 years 9 months – 6 years old. 

Key Responsibilities Include the Following:

• Supporting daily operational tasks in two classrooms
• Material making and light material prepping (sewing, cutting paper, making playdough, punching holes in paper, etc.)
• Supervising children during staff breaks (always maintaining line of sight). 
• Covering in the classroom as needed when staff are out (being an on-call substitute for Assistant positions as needed).

Required Experience, Qualifications, and Attributes:

Candidates must have a minimum of 6 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units and be actively enrolled in classes to complete a total of 12 units

Exceptional candidates:

Have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher
Are a fluent Spanish speaker
Are knowledgeable about Montessori principles and have a desire to learn more
Are able to sit on the floor
Are able to get up and down from the floor with ease
Are able to lift and carry 40 pounds
