Our family is hosting a small homeschool in Viseu, Portugal. Our aim in having a small "pod" of students is to reduce the risk of Covid19 for our extended family while maintaining a high quality of life with lots of time outdoors.  We seek an experienced teacher or Montessori guide who is also interested in working with a small group of children-- maybe as few as one, maybe as many as four --in order to reduce their risk.

More information:

  • Competitive wages:  10-16 EUROS/hour, depending on experience
  • Expected hours:  20-25 hours/week
  • Option to live on-site in private suite + meals
  • Great opportunity for a cultural exchange
  • You will design the learning environment in collaboration with the parents
  • Access to high-quality learning materials

We recognize this is late in the year to recruit a teacher for the 20/21 school year.

We are attempting to bring other families to the area to join our homeschool pod.  We intend to attract a qualified teacher or guide who would like to relocate for 9 months (until June 2021), or a teacher already living in Viseu, who will be happy to be flexible and work with only one or two children or up to four children maximum.  Our family is American with some Portuguese roots.

Start date is ASAP, but could be as late as November 1.
