Primary Assistant Guide

The role of the Primary Part-time Assistant is to provide support to the Lead Guide. The assistant is responsible to the lead teacher and will assist in establishing and maintaining a harmonious classroom.

High School Diploma. Experience teaching in an early education or Montessori environment is preferred.

The Primary Assistant will be able to use good judgment in regard to classroom guidelines, be willing to ask questions and receive guidance, understand the Primary Class day is structured and flexible conjunctively depending on the day and/or group of children. The Primary Assistant will have good communication skills, be willing to go with the flow, be able to multi-task, paying attention to detail and most importantly understand that the children come first before all other duties.

The Primary Assistant will work as a team with the Lead Guide. It is an intimate and rewarding role and much of the success of the classroom depends on the Assistant’s ability and willingness to support the atmosphere of the classroom.
