Journey Academy Colorado is a hybrid, independent Christian school that meets Mondays - Wednesdays, 8:00 am staff arrival until 3:30 pm each of those days. We are an affiliate of Acton Academy.
We are a Christian non-profit organization, and although we accept students and families of all creeds or none, and do not teach doctrine or dogma, we do ask that any applicants ensure that they feel able to sign a basic statement of Christian faith based on the Apostle's Creed. Staff members are not asked to adhere to any denominationally-specific doctrines, but to have a posture of questioning, growth, and continual seeking are encouraged.

We are looking primarily for a Guide for our Sparks Studio, ages 4-7, however, there are other Guide positions available.
~Experience working with young people ages 4-18

~Willingness to take on a number of "as-needed" tasks

~Willingness to step back and hand over responsibilities to students, resist rescuing them from failure, and ability to guide them in reflection afterward
~Take on a self-paced development and training program to deeply understand and practice the Acton educational philosophy
~Manage your learning studio with oversight and help from Lead Guides
~Create a fun learning environment through project-based learning quests
~Equip, empower, and encourage your learners to embrace responsibility, accountability, and grow in self-government
~Cultivate an environment of kind-heartedness and tough-mindedness
~ Seek to bring God and the Bible to the center of learning through wonderment, Socratic discussions, conflict resolution, and personal modeling
~Assist other Guides and Directors with various administrative tasks or project preparation as requested
~Participate in staff development and meetings

- begins August 1st, flexible hours
- Self-paced training and phone conferences may be started upon hire date, if earlier than August 1st
