Montessori 3-6 Teacher

Starlight School has an immediate opening for a full-time Montessori certified teacher for 3-6 year olds. Having a Director's permit would be a plus. Hours are Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to 4:30 pm. We are a warm and intimate school in a lovely town with an excellent reputation. Our school follows the Montessori philosophy closely and has no more than 15 children in the classroom at any given time. We have been serving families in Benicia and surrounding communities for over 10 years. We provide a respectful and safe environment for our employees and have been fortunate to have had wonderful families pass through our humble school.

Must have at least 12 ECE units, a Montessori certificate or working towards one and at least 2 years experience working with 3-6 year olds in a Montessori setting and come with references.

Candidate will be responsible for up to 12 children when needed either indoors or outdoors and will work closely with a seasoned Montessori teacher. Preparing the environment before the school day and at the end of the school day and collaborating with co-teacher and Head of School are part of the responsibilities. Working closely with families and communicating on a regular basis about the progress of their child, attending all school events and staff meetings and contributing to the consultations in improving curriculum and the physical environment. Clear and respectful communication with staff and Head of School is of prime importance.

Candidate must be prepared to type up newsletters, have consistent communication with parents via our platform Brightwheel and be prepared to put together materials according to the themes in the classroom. Must have an excellent hold of the English language and have a strong knowledge of Montessori Peach Education.
