Position Summary
Montessori Peaks Academy (MPA) seeks a Middle School Math Lead Teacher (7th-8th grades) for the 2026-2027 school year. Under the general direction of the Principal, the ideal candidate will collaborate with the Middle School team to oversee the Middle School program and facilitate math instruction for 7th-8th students. The Middle School Lead Math Teacher will challenge each child to reach his/her fullest potential academically, emotionally, and physically in a prepared Montessori environment.

Qualifications

Active CDE Teaching License, with a math endorsement
Montessori (6-12 and/or 9-12) Credentials (AMS, AMI, IMC, MACTE) preferred.
Experience with Illustrative Math preferred.

Responsibilities

Professional Responsibilities
Communicates effectively with the lead teachers, instructional coach, principal, and other staff. Check Jeffco email daily.
Interacts appropriately with parents and guardians, reserving all behavioral and educational progress reporting to the lead teacher.
Maintains prompt daily attendance as prescribed in the Employee Guidelines.
Attend relevant team/school meetings and professional development.
Maintain a strong home/school partnership by ensuring consistent, respectful and open lines of communication with parents.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Middle School team to prepare and maintain a Montessori environment in which the furnishings and materials are developmentally appropriate and provide academic purpose.
Adhere to Montessori guidelines and professional standards.
Deliver math instruction that aligns with CDE standards using the Illustrative Math (IM) 6-8 curriculum, while incorporating relevant Montessori methods appropriate for the Middle School classroom.
Facilitate small group enrichment (Electives) activities.
Ensure the safety and well-being of students in the classroom.
Collaborate and participate within a level team and with interdisciplinary teachers.
Provide a supportive and collaborative partnership with the Assistant by communicating clear expectations of the Assistant’s role.
Maintain a supportive and collaborative partnership with administration and colleagues to assist with curriculum development and implementation within the context of the School's overall program, mission, and core values.
Partner with Student Support Services to ensure student success and developmental readiness.
Participate in ongoing Professional Development.
Attend all required faculty and team meetings.
Collaborate and participate within a level team.
Maintain a strong home/school partnership by ensuring consistent, respectful and open lines of communication with parents.
Be available to parents through written communication, setting up conferences, and educating parents in Montessori philosophy.
Maintain student record keeping, lesson planning, parent reports, and parent conferences.
Participate and help lead Parent Education evening events.
Other duties as assigned by the Principal.
