Lower Elementary Lead Teacher

Kalispell Montessori is seeking a Lower Elementary Lead Teacher (grades 1–3) for the 2026–27 school year and beyond. Located in the Flathead Valley of Northwest Montana, just an hour from Glacier National Park. Our campus sits on three acres adjacent to 400 acres of preserved public land, offering a rich indoor and outdoor learning environment.

Established over 40 years ago, our school serves approximately 100 students in grades 1–8 and is supported by a team of seven credentialed Montessori guides. We are proud of our collaborative culture and strong mentorship for new staff. While we prefer candidates with Montessori experience, we are open to supporting the right intern or assistant teacher, including sponsorship for Montessori training.

Experience working with children ages 6–9
Background in elementary education (Montessori preferred, not required)
Experience delivering instruction in one-on-one, small group, and whole-class settings
Demonstrated success in a classroom setting
Commitment to professional growth and openness to Montessori philosophy and training

Prepare and maintain a well-organized Montessori classroom environment
Guide students through individualized and small-group lessons
Foster a calm, respectful, and productive classroom community
Track student progress and maintain accurate academic records
Communicate regularly with families and collaborate with colleagues
Support experiential learning, including outdoor education opportunities

Strong understanding of child development (ages 6–9)
Ability to differentiate instruction and meet diverse learning needs
Collaboration and teamwork in a co-teaching environment
Organization and attention to detail in record-keeping
Effective communication with students, families, and colleagues
Passion for fostering independence, curiosity, and a love of learning
