Description

Golden Mountain Montessori is seeking an experienced, nurturing, and dedicated Lead Teacher to guide our Infant Toddler House program serving children ages 6 weeks to 3 years. The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a high-quality Montessori environment that supports each child's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development. This position provides leadership within the classroom, mentors assistant teachers, partners with families, and ensures compliance with Colorado Child Care Licensing regulations and Montessori principles.

Qualifications

-Must meet Colorado Child Care Licensing requirements for a Lead Teacher.
-Early Childhood Education (ECE) credentials required.
-Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood -Education or a related field preferred.
-Montessori training or certification preferred.
-Minimum of 2 years of experience working with infants and toddlers in a licensed childcare setting.
-Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
-Must successfully pass all required background checks and screenings.
-Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively participate in classroom activities.

Responsibilities

Classroom Leadership
-Plan, prepare, and maintain a Montessori environment that promotes independence and learning.
-Lead daily classroom routines and activities appropriate for infants and toddlers.
-Observe, assess, and document children's development and progress.
-Ensure classroom materials are developmentally appropriate, organized, and well-maintained.
-Model professionalism and Montessori practices for classroom staff.

Child Development and Care
-Provide attentive supervision and care to all children.
-Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
-Foster independence, self-help skills, and positive behavior.
-Ensure each child's individual needs are met in a respectful and nurturing manner.
-Maintain a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.

Staff Supervision and Support
-Train, mentor, and provide guidance to Assistant Teachers and classroom aides.
-Delegate classroom responsibilities as appropriate.
-Promote teamwork and effective communication within the classroom.
-Assist administration in maintaining classroom quality standards.
-Family Communication
-Build positive relationships with families.
-Communicate regularly regarding children's progress, development, and daily activities.
-Address parent questions and concerns professionally and promptly.
-Participate in conferences, school events, and family engagement activities.

Health, Safety, and Compliance
-Ensure compliance with all Colorado Child Care Licensing regulations.
-Maintain required classroom records and documentation.
-Monitor classroom health and safety practices.
-Conduct regular cleaning and sanitizing procedures according to school policies.
-Participate in emergency drills and implement safety procedures as required.

Administrative Duties
-Complete daily reports, observations, and classroom documentation.
-Maintain attendance and child records as required.
-Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
-Collaborate with administration to support school goals and initiatives.
