Lead Teacher / Montessori Guide Primary (ages 3-6)

The 3 R’s Plus Montessori is a family-owned and operated school nestled in the Houston Heights neighborhood. For more than 35 years we have educated student’s age 12 months – 6 years old using the Montessori methods.

We have a passion for providing a quality education in a nurturing setting. We are seeking a Montessori certified Lead Teacher for our Primary class. It consists of 18-22 children ranging in age of 3 - 6 years old. There are two classroom assistants. Ideal hours are 7:45 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. Monday - Friday, year round.

COVID-19: The CDC lists schools and daycares as a medium level threat. We take sanitation and health very seriously. Our staff, enrollment and sanitizing requirements have evolved. We are in full compliance, often exceeding, Covid19 issued rules or guidelines by the CDC, state, local and federal rules.

With the new COVI-19 rules in place, sanitizing and cleaning is required from all employees to create a safe space for our children and each other. We divide it up fairly among staff.

Our ideal candidate is:

Montessori certification in ages 3-6, required

Enjoy working with children

Able to effectively communicate with parents

Team player, will pitch in and stay late or lend a hand for a special project

Desires personal and professional development

Stay calm and maintain a peaceful classroom ambiance

Support a fun and interactive classroom, ensure that it is organized and sanitized in regulation with new Covid19 guidelines

Applicants must be reliable and available to work every week, year round

Be observant and able to rapidly respond to the situation

Speak with kindness to students and peers

School hours are 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday – Friday, year round. Work schedule to be mutually agreed upon by employer and employee.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Must be able to stand for 20 minutes without sitting

The salary range for this position will be commensurate with experience.
