Job Description

The Montessori Earl Childhood Lead Teacher is the lead guide of the Spark Studio, a 3–6 Montessori Primary studio. This role requires a deep knowledge of Montessori philosophy, materials, and methodology, as well as a genuine love for the early childhood years.

The Lead Guide is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the Montessori environment, individualized lesson planning and presentations for each child, ongoing observation and documentation, and coordination with the PD for quality communication with families. The Lead Teacher also supervises and mentors the Assistant Teacher.

This role requires a MACTE-accredited Montessori Primary credential

What is Beacon Leadership Academy?

Beacon Leadership Academy is a small Christian Montessori preschool and learner-driven elementary/middle school that guides each child on a journey to discover a calling and change the world. We opened in 2021 with 11 students, and now have over 40 students from preschool through 8th grade.

We are located on 16 acres in Stokesdale, North Carolina, convenient to Greensboro and Winston-Salem. We offer an authentic Montessori primary program (ages 3-6) and innovative Montessori-inspired elementary & middle school programs. Beacon offers a half-day program to preschool-aged children (8:00am-11:45am), and a full-day program for kindergarten through 8th grade (8:00am-3:15pm). Our school days are Mondays through Thursdays from mid-August until the end of June.

- Has proven excellence in written and oral communication skills.
- Has an AMI, AMS, or MACTE accredited Montessori diploma for primary-aged children, and some experience in a Montessori early childhood environment.

In collaboration with the guide team, the early childhood guide will oversee a class of up to 25 students ages 2.5 to 6 years old with high-fidelity Montessori practice. The guide will be responsible for facilitating the development of a classroom culture of joy, peace, independence, and responsibility. She/he will:

- Prepare a warm and inviting classroom environment that encourages exploration and independent learning.
- Maintain a clean and orderly classroom.
- Observe and deliver Montessori lessons as needed to facilitate independence, and learning.
- Keep detailed records of observations and lessons planned and given.
- Model curiosity, peace, and order.
- Write or contribute to weekly blog posts.
- Communicate/meet with parents, as necessary.
