Description
Golden Mountain Montessori is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Teacher Assistant to support our Infant Toddler House program serving children ages 6 weeks to 3 years. The Teacher Assistant works closely with the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate Montessori environment that encourages independence, exploration, and social-emotional growth. This position assists with daily classroom operations, child supervision, and the implementation of Montessori practices while ensuring compliance with Colorado Child Care Licensing regulations.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Early Childhood Education (ECE) coursework preferred.
Previous experience working with infants and toddlers preferred.
Montessori experience or knowledge preferred but not required.
Must meet all Colorado Child Care Licensing requirements.
Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Must successfully pass all required background checks and screenings.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage in classroom activities.
Responsibilities
Child Supervision and Care
-Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
-Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, napping, and daily care routines.
-Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
-Encourage independence and self-help skills using Montessori principles.
Classroom Support
-Assist the Lead Teacher in preparing and maintaining the Montessori environment.
-Set up, organize, and care for classroom materials and learning activities.
-Help maintain a clean, orderly, and inviting classroom.
Support children during indoor and outdoor activities
Health and Safety
-Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and licensing requirements.
-Clean and sanitize toys, equipment, and classroom surfaces as required.
-Monitor children for signs of illness or injury and report concerns immediately.
-Participate in emergency drills and follow school safety procedures.
Team and Family Communication
-Work collaboratively with Lead Teachers, staff, and administration.
-Communicate professionally and respectfully with families and coworkers.
-Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
-Support a positive and respectful school culture.
