Description

Full Time teacher working in toddler class with another teacher.

Qualifications

● At least 6 completed education units. 3 units in infant/toddler is preferred (either completed or registered) bachelor’s or associate degree is preferred. A degree or certification in Early Childhood Education or related field is preferred. Montessori Credential or at least 16 units in Montessori Training is preferred.

● English-Spanish or English-Mandarin bilingual candidates is preferred.

● At least 6 months working in a classroom as a member of a teaching team;

● Genuine passion for nurturing and inspiring children to be creative and curious life-long learners

● Solid interpersonal skills working in a team environment

Responsibilities

● Planning and preparing the daily activities for toddler classes (18-month till 2.5 years) in coordination with the Director

● Maintain progress records of each child growth and development

● Prepare periodic reports and Individual Development Plans, contingent upon review with supervisor and parents. Shares information as needed

● Work with parents to promote understanding of their child’s growth and development; encourage parent participation in school programs; attend parent group and preschool functions

● Conduct regular formal and/or informal parent/teacher conferences on each child’s school adjustment, classroom behavior, and developmental progress

● Effectively train, supervise, and utilize classroom assistants and primary floaters

● Supervise children; build children self-esteem; comfort children;

● Clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand

● Maintains a safe and secure environment for all participants

● Performs related duties as assigned, shares duties with other staff including intervention in classroom issues (child/teacher; Teacher/Teacher; Teacher/parent)
