Description

Hey friend,

THE IMAGINE ACADEMY IS HIRING.

I'm passing this on to you--as you or someone you know could POSSIBLY fit the bill for what we're doing here at our very unique and special school starting next month in Temple/Belton, Texas.
Do you want to change the world?

Do you want to help young Learners find their Calling so that they can change the world?

Do you want to work with me, and our soon-to-be-growing team of big-hearted, tough-minded entrepreneurs as we work to change the current 120+-year-old model of education and learning?

Then, LISTEN UP!

Position: Elementary School Guide with quick potential
for growth and leadership.

Potential Start Date: June 14th (!!!) but not unless we find the very particular RIGHT person for which we're searching.

If your passion is to fuel the love of learning in others while advancing your own personal and professional growth, this is your chance to get in on the ground floor of one of the world’s most innovative schools.

The Imagine Academy is founded on the ACTON ACADEMY model.
Acton Academy, founded in 2009, is a private micro-school and learner-driven community with the mission that each person who enters its doors will find a calling and change the world.

We combine elements of the Montessori method with Socratic guiding, hands-on experiential quests, and interactive technology.
Underlying our method is an application of the Hero’s Journey creating a lively learning environment that feels more like an adventure in a tech startup than a school.

At The Imagine Academy, we will have mixed-aged classrooms called Studios with a self-paced learning design as opposed to grade levels.

Our real-world-oriented Quests culminate in a public exhibition of learning as opposed to test scores and report cards.

In all areas of The Imagine Academy's life, our Learners are empowered to be in the driver’s seat of their own education...to help create a lifetime LOVE of LEARNING.

We are seeking a full-time Elementary School Guide to work with our elementary school Learners.

Our Guide has the opportunity to grow quickly and help us grow this innovative learning start-up from a bricks and mortar school location into something that can eventually be done remotely, as well, with Learners all over the world.

I can't stress this enough--but this will be an ADVENTURE, and there will absolutely be chaotic times, and with that a TON of growth and learning for everyone involved, and I'm so excited about that.
.
Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Our Guides receive competitive pay, commensurate with experience.

Sound exciting? Here's what you or your friend can do:
Begin the difficult process to apply for this world-changing opportunity... by first reaching out to me with your resume and a nice letter, and then go to www.ChipFranks.com/guide to start the Audition process.

Qualifications

We are looking for a smart, entrepreneurial individual who is passionate about guiding children on their independent journey of lifelong learning, and who possesses an understanding of the Hero’s Journey and the Socratic Method.

Our Guide will learn to lead Socratic discussions under Chip Franks (that's me!) and will learn how to work with The Imagine Academy learning design, processes, and systems.

Our Guide will equip our Learners to explore and take ownership of their learning, monitor progress on the Montessori-style curriculum, and create life-oriented projects that nurture curiosity.

If interested, as your first step in this process, you'll need to get thoroughly familiar with the Acton system.
Experience as a traditional teacher is not required and may hinder the process

Responsibilities

Developing and working with our world-famous "Launches" and real-world quests!

Working with me to curate and determine which work to do in the launches and which Quests that we'll design.

HELPING OUR HEROES GET AS SELF-SUFFICIENT AS POSSIBLE, AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE.

Then, to leave them alone until the next launch.

Oh, and never answer a question!

You'll need to do a 50-ish hour training prior to starting and also meet the Heroes beforehand to make sure there's a match.
