We are looking for a mature, assertive Montessori elementary assistant to accompany our Lead Elementary Guide during the 2021-2022 academic year in the areas of faith, academics, virtue, and play.
Observes children's work lessons/presentations given by Lead Guide during the morning work period from 8:45-11:45 a.m. and follows up with children as directed.
Helps oversee the afternoon work period from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m., completing tasks designated for each session.
Assists Elementary Guide with record-keeping by observing children's lessons and work and recording lessons in MRX files.
Communicates student requests for lessons and pertinent observations to the Elementary Guide.
Assists in supervising the lunch period from 11:45 - 1:00 p.m. Tues - Friday to maintain continuity with classroom/Atrium environment expectations of respectful behavioral norms during the meal and recreation period. Gives oversight of children's restoration of classroom tables on indoor lunch days before indoor or outdoor recess. On outdoor lunch/recess days, provides supervision of games/activities and restoration of outside picnic and play area and equipment before re-entering the classroom.
Assists in keeping the environment well-supplied.
