Description
Little Voyageurs' Montessori School (LVMS) is seeking a full-time Children’s House Montessori Guide to start at the beginning of summer session (June 2026) possible earlier start. LVMS is an environment that is respectful and joyful for children and adults, and we are seeking applicants who are dedicated to the development of young children.
Organization
Little Voyageurs’ Montessori School (LVMS) was established in 1968 and is a non-profit, parent-operated Montessori school located in Columbia Heights. We serve children from diverse backgrounds, approximately age 3 through kindergarten, in a multi-age classroom. LVMS is open year-round, and the educational program is complemented by an extended day program. Both provide a nurturing, high-quality, structured learning environment for the total child. The Montessori program operates within a typical school year and a 7-week Montessori summer program.
LVMS provides a collaborative, positive work environment and offers benefits that include paid time off, paid holidays, health, dental, vision, retirement, and training opportunities.

Qualifications
Required:
-AMI or AMS certified (AMI preferred)
Preferred:
-Experience working in a Montessori Children's House classroom
Responsibilities
Applicants should have a love for children, be creative, take initiative, have patience, and work well in a team that creates a unique Montessori environment and follows the Montessori theory.
Responsibilities include:
-Planning and implementing Montessori activities in the areas of Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, Culture/Geography, Science, Music, and Art
-Presenting developmentally appropriate material/activities to individuals and groups of children
-Creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, self-directed environment for students
-Designing creative and engaging activities to spark children’s individual interests
-Facilitating a harmonious work environment with co-workers and children
-Engaging in proactive communication with colleagues, parents, and Board Members
-Writing and delivering conferences and information for parents
-Displaying leadership, flexibility, and patience
