Job Title: Montessori Teacher (Casa or Toddler)

Reports to: School Director/Head of School

Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Montessori Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for children in our Casa (ages 3-6) or Toddler (ages 18-36 months) program, following the principles of the Montessori method. The teacher will guide and facilitate the intellectual, social, and emotional development of each child, fostering independence, a love of learning, and respect for themselves and others.

International Montessori School of Albania (IMSA), founded in 2007, is the first Montessori School in Albania, and the only one that is Internationally accredited. We care for and nourish children from 9 months to 5 years old.

IMSA seeks to educate the whole child, applying the Montessori philosophy, in an internationally-oriented environment.

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

Montessori certification (AMI, AMS, or other MACTE-accredited) for the appropriate age level (Casa or Toddler).

Minimum of two years of experience teaching in a Montessori setting preferred.

Fluent in English; additional language proficiency is a plus.

Strong understanding of child development and the Montessori philosophy and methodology.

Excellent observation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to create and maintain a positive, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues and parents.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.

Strong organizational and classroom management skills.

Proficiency in using technology for record-keeping, communication, and lesson planning.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain a well-organized, attractive, and stimulating Montessori classroom environment, ensuring all materials are in excellent condition and readily accessible to children.

Implement the Montessori curriculum, presenting lessons with clarity and precision, and adapting instruction to meet the individual needs and learning styles of each child.

Observe and document each child's progress, interests, and developmental needs, using this information to inform lesson planning and individualized instruction.

Guide children in the selection and use of Montessori materials, encouraging exploration, discovery, and independent learning.

Foster a positive and respectful classroom community where children feel safe, valued, and supported, and where they learn to cooperate, collaborate, and resolve conflicts peacefully.

Promote the development of practical life skills, such as self-care, care of the environment, and social graces.

Encourage the development of language, literacy, mathematics, science, and cultural studies through hands-on activities and engaging experiences.

Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, providing updates on their child's progress, addressing concerns, and collaborating to support the child's development.

Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities, and school events, contributing to the ongoing growth and improvement of the school community.

Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments.

Adhere to all school policies and procedures, and maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
